Legacy of the Golden Bird

Book: Legacy of the Golden Bird

Author: Lainey Miles

Review:

"Legacy of the Golden Bird" by Lainey Miles marks the captivating beginning of The Lost Forest Trilogy. The book’s cover features Berra, a mystical bird with special powers, who is rescued by a kind-hearted character named Chuck. As the story unfolds, Chuck/Sir Charles receives two notable visitors—Princess Salair and Sasha. Sasha, the Princess’s loyal bodyguard, also serves as the head of the Royal Guards.

Princess Salair hails from the Kingdom of the Meadow and is the daughter of Queen Victoria and King Sargon of the House of Pishtar. She informs Sir Charles that both her parents have mysteriously vanished from the kingdom. While at Sir Charles’ residence, the Princess catches a fleeting glimpse of a glowing turquoise flower—a vision that vanishes as quickly as it appears. She also senses a deep, unexplained bond with Berra, the golden bird.

What lies ahead when a mysterious figure named Shift arrives seeking help to save his daughter? And who is his daughter?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The plot is immersive and engaging, drawing me completely into the richly imagined fantasy world Lainey Miles has created. Characters like Chuck, Princess Salair, and Berra stood out as my favorites. Lainey’s storytelling is truly impressive—she’s captured my heart with this magical tale.
